At 55 years of age I now have more days behind me than before me. The voices of my ancestors once silent now beckon me, the hint of smoke on the wind reminds me of my journey, from dust I was created and to dust I will someday return. Just as the buffalo sustained a way of life for generations of my ancestors - at birth swaddled in its warm soft skin and remaining forever touched as they were wrapped in its winding sheets at death. They practiced what so many in our culture are now pontificating. The sustainable concept is more than a product, more than a certification, more than a political movement - it is a way of life - a cycle of life.
